Recently found a Zakka store tucked in the third floor of a row of shops in Taman Melodies, which offers lots of cute handmade products crafted by Malaysians. The owners Jason, Rachel and Jesslyn were super friendly and hosted a tea session for my photographer and I. Our friend Corinna even baked delicious Christmas fruitcake and banana muffins for the session! :)

It is a quaint little place with pink walls and warm lighting filled with lots of cutesy stuff made by at least 50 craftsmen displayed on recycled wine boxes and wooden trays. I normally don't like super cute stuff but the hand-sewn bunnies with patchwork ears and buttons for eyes and long skinny limbs are hard to resist! I asked how they came up with their store name, Jesslyn said that Minus One supposedly gives an impression of freezing cold but once filled with handmade products that craftsmen spent hours on end to produce, the shop becomes warm and loving - how cute! They also gifted me with a handmade pouch (last pic) because I said that I like cooking my own food to bring to work. :)

So if you're interested in joining their Facebook community or head over to their shop Minus One Zakka Store in Jalan Meranti Merah, Taman Melodies (they're located on the 3rd floor, so look out for a money changer beside an alley on that row - next to it is a dance/yoga centre, enter that shop and go upstairs). Customers will be treated to tea and conversation during each visit.

Love,
